Dr Robert Gauthier is a native of Minnesota. He attended medical school at the University of Minnesota and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He joined the faculty at the University in 1986 and was an assistant professor at the hospital until 2004. He specialized in cardiac and pediatric anesthesia, with an emphasis on complex and transplant anesthesia. He left in 2004 to pursue business interests, including medical devices, and has worked independently since 2004 in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He has worked on device prototyping and development while working clinically since 2004, as well as software design and implementation. He has extensive experience in regional, pediatric and complex general anesthesia, He lives in St Paul, his wife Greta is an assistant commissioner in MN state government and their children are in college and post graduate studies.
